The semi-finals of the Croke Cup have been set, with St Brendans Park in Birr playing host to a doubleheader on March 4th.

The early throw-in on the day is at 12.45 pm with St. Kierans College set to do battle with Cashel Community School. The second game of the day sees Presentation College, Athenry, and Thurles CBS going head to head just after.

St. Kieran’s manager Brian Dowling was speaking to Scoreline and said he was glad for the two weeks break between the Leinster final defeat and the beginning of the All-Ireland series.

“We had a few injuries, so the two weeks gave us a chance to get some bodies back on the pitch. It gave us time to have a look at the Leinster final, and move on from it, but look back and see where we could improve.”

We had a lot of improving to do after the Leinster final where we met a very strong Offaly combined schools team. We are disappointed not to win but we are still in the All-Ireland championship so we will give it all we can for the rest of the year.”

Brian is also the Kilkenny camogie manager of course, with his team forming one part of our triple header this weekend when Kilkenny clash with Galway tomorrow in the VERY Ireland Camogie League Division 1A Round 2.
