In just under two weeks time, Glenmore will take on St. Lachtain’s in Nowlan Park for the chance of winning the Hanrahan Cup and progressing to the senior ranks in Kilkenny next year.
This year’s Michael Lyng Motors Hyundai Intermediate final was set in stone after St. Lachtain’s defeated Fenians 2-12 to 0-10 in UPMC Nowlan Park at the weekend.
The later game saw Glenmore and Thomastown go head-to-head with Henry Shefflin’s side losing to Glenmore on a scoreline of 19 points to 1-13, in a thrilling encounter.
Glenmore manager Declan Wall believes it will be a tight game but ultimately will come down to the team with the most desire.
“We will sit down and analyse Freshford but there is no question that it will be a 50/50 game”, Wall told Scoreline.ie this week.
“Conditions could be similar (to Thomastown game), but it will still be a game of two halves.”
“It is the team that wants to win, it is as simple as that. The team that really wants to go play senior hurling next year, will be the team to go play senior hurling next year.”
