The final of the KCLR Shield in Carlow has been given a date.
Slaney Rovers and New Oak Boys will meet on Sunday 2 January, with one team getting the chance to kick off 2022 with some silverware.
Burren Celtic will host the fixture in Ballon with an 11am start.
Match tickets will be five Euro on the day.
Slaney Rovers beat Hanover Harps 2-1 in the quarter-final stages before putting four unanswered goals past Parkville United in Sunday’s semi-final encounter.
New Oak equally have performed well, seeing off Killeshin 3-1 in the quarter-finals before dumping Crettyard out of the competition at the weekend with a 2-1 victory. Their only points dropped thus far came in a 1-0 defeat to Vale Wanderers back in August.
Indeed, New Oak’s Dean Kelly has been on good scoring form as well with nine goals to his account over the course of the competition, this year running off in a Champions League-style format.
