There’s some silverware heading to the Village this week.
The Kilkenny Honda Centre Minor Roinn A hurling league final was played out in UPMC Nowlan Park on Monday night.
With temperatures having regularly breached 30 degrees up to and across the weekend, Monday’s affair at Kilkenny GAA HQ was in much cooler, wetter conditions.
While the sun made way and the thunder rolled in Kilkenny, it also rained goals for the Village with James Stephens picking up a 5-14 to 1-03 win come the final whistle.
Both sides would have been fancied to hit the back of the net with 59 goals shared between them during the league proper but for 2022, it’s James Stephens taking the league title back to the club rooms at Larchfield.
Story developing.
