James Stephens Senior Hurling Manager Seamus Dwyer says that defending is an important skill that is not valued in other counties.
Speaking to KCLR after Sunday’s County Senior Semi-Final victory over Erins Own Castlecomer, Seamus says the performances of defenders contribute to low scoring contests in Kilkenny at times.
He said “Some one had a stat up during the week that the Kilkenny Hurling Championship can be low scoring at times and sometimes the turkey shoots that you get down in Cork and Tipperary, they don’t happen here I suppose, the defending is an important skill here maybe it’s not valued as highly in other places”.
