Jimmy Meany, Slieverue manager speaks after his side are destined to play junior hurling again next year

The two teams that will compete to become JJ Kavanagh & Sons Kilkenny Junior Hurling champions have been confirmed following Saturday’s semi-finals at UPMC Nowlan Park.

Tullogher Rosbercon will take on Mooncoin as both sides defeated James Stephens and Slieverue respectively.

Slieverue in particular had a rough day at the park with a 6-13 to 0-13 loss to Mooncoin. Despite the heavy feat overall Slieverue manager Jimmy Meany is proud of his side;

“We did not do to well in the league sections, but we had a very strong chat amongst ourselves about what we wanted to do and want to acheieve

I think the last seven weeks have been very enjoyable, from a management point of view, from a players point of view, we have applied ourselves quite well.

It was a pleasure going to the pitch, and that is what it is about. There is enough streeses in life at the moment. There are more important things then hurling but on the day this was the most important thing.

I am just proud with they way they applied themselves over the last few weeks, I asked for a bit of response when things were not going that great, and I got that response. That is all you can ask for.”
