Joseph O’Brien is hopeful that Arkwrisht will repeat his effort of finishing 3rd in last years Irish Grand National on Easter Monday.
The south-Kilkenny trainer was speaking to KCLR ahead of the Fairyhouse feature, saying that he unlucky not to win last year.
“I Vieux Morvan, Arkwrisht who went close last year, Slowmotion, Shady Operator, they are all entered and hopefully a few of them will get in and we will give it our best shot”, says O’Brien.
“He (Arkwrisht) he was certainly traveling very well.”
“Rachael (Blackmore) was very happy with him and he just got knocked off his rhythm and ultimately it cost him any chance of winning the race.”
“But it was a cracking run out of the horse and looking forward to going back and giving him another shot at it this year.”
This year’s Irish Grand National takes place during the Fairyhouse Easter Festival with the race off at 5pm.
