Henry Kelly is no stranger to success around Kilkenny and he had another wonderful night at the St James Park venue on Friday as Karlow Lark ran out a deserving and very determined winner of the valuable Boylesports A3 Bitch 525.
A 7-4 chance ahead of the daughter of Droopys Jet and Karlow Ming was second in the early yards to the fast-starting Kilara Odessa but she made what was to prove a decisive move at the second bend.
Running with real fluency, she rounded the early pace-setter to lead by a length passing halfway.
The favourite Benalmadena Roxy mistimed the start somewhat and seemed to lose her pitch as they entered the back straight, leaving the race between the front two.
Kilara Odessa was not going to go down without a battle and she did close on the leader of the final turn but Karlow Lark kept going right to the line and she eventually claimed the impressive €4,800 prize by a head in 29.12.
Kilara Odessa ran a big race in second while Muffin was another two and a half lengths adrift in third.
