Yes we all know that former Carlow manager Colm Bonnar bested Brian Cody in the league on Sunday

One point is all that separated Kilkenny and fierce rivals Tipperary in Sundays League clash. You can read the full match report here or listen back to the game here.

As much as you always hate losing to your foes, Four-time All Ireland winner and Rower-Inistigoe man Kieran Joyce does not think his former manager Brian Cody will be too disappointed.

“Brian is testing players out, he is trying to extend his panel. It is going to be a short season this year, with the league and then championship to follow straight away. It is going to be important he gets a few additional lads into the panel, have a strong 20 or 22.

“He is trying out guys, unfortunately, they came up short. It is a good learning curve. They were down by a couple of points, the fight is still there, they got it back to a draw. “

“Brian will be happy enough, you still hate losing, but he is blooding in guys and getting the guys coming in some experience.”
