Eight-time All-Ireland winner with Kilkenny, Richie Power believes Kilkenny has strength in numbers as they prepare for their All Ireland semi final.

Kilkenny defeated Dublin at the weekend with the substitutes contributing 8 points from the bench. In the previous game against Wexford, the changes were identified as crucial in the eventual win.

Speaking on KCLR Full Time with Eddie Scally , Power was impressed with the panel’s selection options

“You had James Bergin, Alan Murphy, Walter Walsh coming off the line, they are going to be pushing hard for a starting spot. Personally, I wouldn’t like to be picking the team. There is definitely in the six forwards, probably nine, ten or eleven, with Richie Hogan coming back fit as well, that can fill only six slots. It’s all positive from a Kilkenny point of view.”

All though sights are firmly set on the semi-final, the Carrickshock man did have a particular team on his mind for the final.

“I think last year’s defeat really hurt players & management. I think they are really out to prove a point and after last weekend’s hurling, who wouldn’t like to see a Kilkenny-Limerick final?”

Always great to catch up with Richie here at Scoreline, you should to, by checking our deep dive with him below on The Clash ACt.
