It was a fantastic year for Kilkenny camogie, all Ireland senior champions after a few failed attempts.

And what a year to do it in too, a pandemic hit world with training affected, games rescheduled, a new format for club and county, and playing games in the bitter cold of Autumn and Winter.

At the weekend, the women’s hurling platform held their online all-star awards and Kilkenny feature heavily on it.

Kilkenny players Claire Phelan, Davina Tobin, Grace Walsh, Denis Gaule, Aoife Doyle, and Ann Dalton were all named women’s hurling all-stars.

Brian Dowling was named manager of the year, with Denise Gaule picking up “player of the year” and Aoife Doyle getting “young player of the year”.
