Kilkenny Oscar Traynor Joint Captain Niall Andrews says the management always felt they had faith in the players to go far in the competition.
Speaking to KCLR ahead of Sunday’s Inter-League Final against Carlow, Niall is hoping home advantage can swing it their way against very difficult opposition.
“We have always felt when Jim Cashin and Jim Nugent took over, I suppose the first thing they said was they felt Kilkenny had the players to go that far and to make ago at the competition and I suppose we have proven that through.
“We have one hurdle left, it will be very very difficult.
“Any team that gets to a Oscar Traynor Final is going to be a decent team so Carlow have beaten some excellent teams on the way, the likes of the Wexford League were there or thereabouts the last couple of years so it’s going to be very difficult, but you couldn’t ask for more, a home final, a Bank Holiday weekend, hopefully we will get a crowd out, the weather will be good and we will just need to finish the job now with a bit of luck,” he said.
