Kilkenny & Carlow soccer results: Evergreen crowned champions, St. Canice’s complete league and cup double

It's back-to-back league and cup doubles for St. Canice's in Kilkenny while Evergreen are Premier Division champions once again.

Evergreen FC are St. Canice’s Credit Union Premier Division champions once again.

In a winner-takes-all clash at the Kells Road yesterday, Evergreen and Freebooters met in a top-of-the-table decider for the final game of the season. Goals from Decky McQuillan, Mikey Drennan and Adrian Cleere helped seal a 3-0 win for the home side and hand Evergreen the league title again, finishing two points clear of Freebooters.

There was also plenty of other cup action in Kilkenny over the weekend with the Over 35s league in Carlow too in full swing. Check all Kilkenny results online at kkleague.com while Carlow results can be found at CarlowSoccer.ie.

Kilkenny: Junior Mock Lawlor Premier Cup

  • Callan United 3-0 Clover United

Callan will now face the winers of Freebooters and Evergreen A who meet on May 21st for their quarter-final fixture.

Kilkenny: St. Canice’s Credit Union Premier Division

  • Evergreen A 3-0 Freebooters

Evergreen finish as champions, two points clear of Freebooters.

Kilkenny: Division 1 Billy Leahy Memorial Cup Final

  • Deen Celtic 1-2 St. Canice’s

The win completes a league and cup double for St. Canice’s having secured the KCLR Scoreline.ie Division 1 title last month. It also marks the second year running to do a league and cup double having claimed the Division 2 title and Ken & Michael Byrne Cup last season.

  • River Rangers A 0-2 Castlewarren Celtic.

Castlewarren will now play Freshford in the final.

  • Stoneyford 2-2 Freshford Town (4-2 after penalties to Stoneyford)
  • Tullaroan 5-3 Evergreen C

  • St. Fiacc’s 0-3 Slaney Rovers
