Kilkenny City Harriers Athlete Aoibhe Richardson is hoping to improve her 5KM personal best time and build on the progress she made in 2018.

Speaking to KCLR, she says the 5KM is not the easiest event to achieve a fast time in….

“My PB for 5K is 16.40 and my PB for 10K is 33.59, but my 10K PB is probably better than my 5K”

“I almost PBed in my first 5K of my 10K when I ran that time in the 10K, so I think I definitely got more in me for the 5K I am hoping to get a few more of those under my belt this season, but the 5K is a hard distance”

“I am still kind of trying to figure that one out, the 10K you are kind of getting into your rhythm and almost you like switch off and you are just going, but the 5K is like all out from the start”
