The results are in, and the Kilkenny City Harriers Girls U14 Relay Team are the winners of the July round of the David Buggy Motors Kilkenny Sport Star Award.
Announced on Tuesday morning following a public vote over the past week, the KCH team fended off strong competition from Eoin Murphy and Mullinavat’s senior footballers.
Nominations are now open for the August round and will close on Thursday 30 August. Submit your nomination here.
“The club is delighted to see the hard work of our U14 girl’s relay team get the recognition deserved with a nomination for the David Buggy Motors sports star of the month with KCLR”, a statement from the club said before the results were announced.
“The work they put into training with there coaches is phenomenal and always with a smile and laugh. The work there coaches put in to get them to this level also has to be recognised as without them it couldn’t happen. In the past year, this team have had some fantastic performances.”
Along with claiming the national 4x100m titles, the girls have also collected Leinster and national indoor titles, both 4x200m titles, along with Leinster and National outdoor titles.
