Kilkenny Senior Gaelic Football manager Christy Walsh admits that getting the full squad across the UK regularly is very time consuming and is not most appealing at times.
Kilkenny make the trip to Birmingham this weekend for the British Junior Championship Final against Warwickshire, and speaking to KCLR, Christy says that’s the process they have to do if they want to be successful.
“It’s a couple of days notice trying to get 25 fellows across the water and trying to suit everybody.
” It is not as easy or as glamorous as it may sound.
“We have got away with it so far, and we have lost nobody, we should be thankful for that and we are winning the matches as well, but the last three trips we have gone off early in the morning, half 4 or 5’o clock, left Kilkenny and we are back late at night so it’s kind of a one day wonder.
“It’s not the most appealing of things, but look if we are going to play and if players are interested playing football, that’s where Kilkenny are at the moment, so it will have to do for the while,” he said.
