The Kilkenny GAA supporter’s Facebook page has issued a strong warning to fans after receiving complaints about inappropriate comments directed at senior hurling players and management following their recent loss to Clare.
“Hey everyone, this is not a post I want to be writing. We are getting complaints about shocking comments about the players, the manager, and just how they didn’t play great. It’s a supporters page, not a complaining page. Some of the players do read the comments, as does the Kilkenny GAA Board.
“There are just no words to describe how every Kilkenny supporter is feeling. We felt the exact same as last year. But we lost. OK, we lost, and we lost to a team who just were determined to win and go the extra mile, and we can only wish them well in the final.”
The administrators urged supporters to remain positive and supportive, emphasizing the accomplishments of the team. “So give the lads and Derek a break. We are Leinster champions, and we push on for 2025.”
The comments emerged after Kilkenny was defeated by Clare in the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship semi-final last Saturday.
