This weekend is a big opportunity for Kilkenny players to claim their place in the semi-finals of the All Ireland Mens and Ladies Singles championships.
On Saturday at Ballymore Eustace the Funchion brothers from Kells have tough matches in their bid to reach the next round of the competition.
First up is Patrick and he plays Charlie Shanks (Armagh), a former winner of the title and this is followed by Peter as he attempts to defeat recent Nationals champion Robbie McCarthy (Westmeath).
Earlier that day Ciara Mahon (Clogh) plays Fiona Tully (Roscommon) in her quarter final match at Crinkle, in a contest where both players know each other’s style of play very well.
