Nine Kilkenny handballers will be following their Carlow counterparts to the World Handball Championships.
Taking place this year in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the players from Mothel, Clogh and Kilfane make their journey this week with the tournament set to begin on Thursday.
Those travelling are Paul Dowling, Noelle Dowling, Shane Dunne, Ciara Mahon, Brian Mahon, Willie Holden, Aoife Holden, Kyle Jordan and Katie Jordan.
Those in action from Kilkenny and Carlow will join in the region of another 200 Irish players, 400 from the US along with competitors from the UK, Mexico, Honduras, Trinidad and further afield.
This year’s tournament runs from 9-19 August with one-wall and wallball competitions beginning this Thursday. Four-wall competitions begin on 13 August, singles playing first with doubles ending on 19 August.
