London Senior Football manager Ciaran Deely says that Kilkenny have footballers as good as those from the top counties.
Speaking to KCLR ahead of London’s trip to Nowlan Park to play Kilkenny in Saturday’s British Junior Championship, Ciaran who is a selector with the London Junior Team hopes that Kilkenny use the British Junior Championship as a gateway back to playing Senior…..
“Everyone of those Good Counsel Teams or school teams who were winning Leinster titles and All-Ireland titles, they always had at least two or three Kilkenny players for them”
“You could see no difference between the quality of Kilkenny and Wexford and players from other counties in our school at that time so it just shows that I don’t think it matters about the Geography of where players are born that there is quality players in every county”
“I would hope that Kilkenny through this competition can start growing and then at some stage get back into the Senior Competitions as well”
Kilkenny County Board and the groundsmen have been busy getting Nowlan Park into shape for the big game, and its looking fantastic ahead of the match…..
