Kilkenny Rugby Club Head Coach Packie Hennebry says the Christmas break might do them the world of good.
Kilkenny’s scheduled South East League Final clash against Wicklow that was meant to be played on Sunday has been cancelled and will be played early in the New Year, and speaking to KCLR, Packie says the lengthy list of injuries to their squad has affected their season…..
“Their is only scoring difference keeping us on the bottom and so like it’s been a disappointing season so far”.
“A lot of injuries, a lot of lads to come back, a lot of bad injuries, and hopefully now in the New Year, all those guys will be back”
“With the Final, I suppose it’s disappointing for Wicklow as well not to be able to play because they are probably in the same boat as us although they are on top of their league, they are probably looking for a bit of silverware as well before the end of the season, but look we will just have to take it on the chin and regroup”.
“Maybe the break mightn’t do us any harm either. It might give those boys a chance to come back the injured players”
