Kilkenny hurler Richie Hogan enjoying role in the centre of the field

Richie Hogan says that playing midfield suits him.

The Kilkenny hurler was speaking after the cats got the better of Cork in Nowlan Park on Sunday and now face rivals Tipperary next Saturday evening.

Speaking after yesterday’s victory over Cork, Richie says he is happy to play anywhere…..

“Ah sure look, it’s maybe that bit easier to get into it. It’s probably more my style of play, kind of getting into it nice and early and maybe getting on the ball a lot, you have to be very patient inside”

“I maybe played the last 20 minutes inside and ball was flying in there and it’s a great place to be absolutely, but you take any single jersey you get in there”

“That’s the way it’s been for the last 20 years, and that’s the way it’s going to stay. Look it’s nice to go in with a couple of points under our belt and Tipperary is going to be a huge challenge next week, but sure I mean what are we playing the game for. We want to play games like this, we want to play teams like that as often as we can. We are looking forward to it absolutely and I sure they are as well”
