Kilkenny and Wexford are through to the Leinster Minor Hurling final.
Kilkenny overcame Offaly by 3-23 to 1-16 in a repeat of last year’s decider, with Harry Shine scoring 2-15 for the young Cats.
After the match manager Richie Mulrooney was full of praise for his captain, speaking with Scoreline after the game he said
“He is a real leader. He himself wouldn’t of been happy with some of the frees in the first half that just did not go right for him. Credit it to him, he did not let that interfere in a fantastic second half performance.”
Speaking with match commentator Brendan Hennessey about the game, the Kilkenny manager seemed to be acknowledge some errors in his side,
“It was a tough test absolutely. We probably should of been further ahead at half time but their goalkeeper made some incredible saves. Perhaps on reflection we should be putting those over the bar. Offaly roared into it in the second half, but our lads showed great composure in the last ten minutes.”
In the other semi Luke Roche scored nine points for Wexford in their 1-15 to 1-12 win against Dublin. Looking ahead to the game next Wednesday Mulrooney simply said,
“We will try to do the county proud next Wednesday”
