Kilkenny Minor Hurling Selector Martin Carey says it’s huge for players outside of Senior Clubs to be involved in the County panel for Sunday’s decider against Galway.

Speaking to KCLR, Martin says that players picked on the panel are chosen on merit.

He said “I just put it down to probably earlier in the year we decided when we sat down in November that it was a complete blank sheet and we had trials earlier in the year, certainly had nobody on that sheet before we started in November and it just progressed and progressed and look it’s fantastic to have 11 clubs involved”.

“I think we only have one Senior Club involved on the starting 15 over the last number of games so yeah, it’s a huge thing and probably hasn’t been seen before in Kilkenny”.
