The Kilkenny Poc Fada takes place this Thursday at Gowran Park.
This year’s competition, like Carlow’s, is a joint operation between Kilkenny GAA and Kilkenny Camogie.
The juvenile competition for both hurling and camogie takes place at 6pm with the adults/seniors beginning from 7pm.
A 1km stretch of the race course is used for the distance, finishing in front of The Grandstand.
The winners at juvenile and adult grade will progress to the Leinster finals on Saturday 25 June, due to be held on Mount Leinster as a joint effort between Carlow GAA and Carlow Camogie.
