Kilkenny stay up after relegation playoff while Tullow ladies march on in Paul Flood Cup

The Kilkenny J1's are staying in the Leinster League Division 1A after they hammed Wicklow in the promotion/relegation playoff at the weekend.

Kilkenny 32-07 Wicklow

The Kilkenny J1’s are staying in the Leinster League Division 1A after they hammed Wicklow in the promotion/relegation playoff at the weekend.

Kilkenny opened the scoring with a try from Podge which was converted by Hugh Corkery.

However, Kilkenny went a man down after that but it didn’t affect the local side as they got a penalty and kick that to make it 10-0.

Other try for Kilkenny then from Liam Caddy before Kilkenny got another penalty and kicked it to make it 18-0.

Hugh Corkery kicked another three penalties then to bring it to 27-0 at halftime.

After the break, Kilkenny managed another try and Wicklow managed a consolation try which they converted

Tullow

The Tullow women’s team hammered Balbriggan in the Paul Flood Cup.

They ran in 12 tries to make it a 72-12 finish.

They’re out again on April 3 against MU Barnhall in the quarter-finals
