Kilkenny will take on Wexford for a place in the All-Ireland semi-final after the draw for the quarter-finals was made on Sunday.
Brian Dowling’s side finished second in their group following a disappointing home defeat to Galway on Saturday evening.
The All-Ireland champions will go up against their south east neighbours on Saturday, the 21st of August at Páirc Uí Chaoimh in Cork.
The second quarter-final pits last year’s beaten semi-finalists Tipperary with Waterford in a tie that is a mirror image of the recent SHC quarter-final between both counties. That game will be played on the same day as the other quarter-final and will also take place at Páirc Uí Chaoimh.
Cork and Galway await in the semi-finals after both teams topped their respective groups.
