Kilkenny U20 team named to face Wexford this weekend

Kilkenny U-20 manager Mark Dowling and his selectors have named the Kilkenny team that will take on Wexford in the opening round of the O’Neills. com Leinster U-20 Hurling Championship on Saturday next in Chadwicks Wexford Park.

Thomastown’s Luke Connellan has been named captain with clubmate Zach Bay Hammond vice-captain. Speaking of clubs there is 12 total represented on the starting 15 with only Thomastown, Glenmore, and Emeralds players doubling up.

Senior panel members Billy Drennan, Georoid Dunne, and Harry Shine are named in the extended panel.

Goalkeeper: Stephen Manogue

Fullback: Mark Donnelly, Sean Purcell, Eoghan Lyng

Halfback: Joe Fitzpatrick, Paddy Langton, Billy Reid

Midfield: Killian Doyle, Cathal Beirne

Half forward: Luke Connellan, James Walsh, Zach Bay Hammond

Full Forward: Darragh Queally, Ted Dunne, Cillian Hackett

Tune into KCLR Scoreline from 2pm Saturday as defending Leinster and All-Ireland U20 hurling champions Kilkenny begin their provincial championship this weekend with a trip to Chadwick’s Wexford Park to take on Wexford.
