Kilkenny woman Theresa Walsh will be the first Kilkenny native to become President of Basketball Ireland.
Basketball Ireland announced this week that following the call for nominations for the position of President of Basketball Ireland, one nomination was received within the prescribed timeline.
The nomination of Theresa Walsh was accepted as in order and she will assume the position on Saturday 11th June 2016 following the AGM of Basketball Ireland.
Theresa has made a huge contribution to basketball in Kilkenny for many years and is only the second ever female President and first in 27 years since Mary Baneham.
