Ireland Ladies Hockey International Aine Connery says she was delighted that the International Team which included some of her former Teammates qualified for next Summer’s Olympic Games in Tokyo despite her own personal disappointment on missing out on the Olympics.
Speaking to KCLR on last weekend’s scoreline, Aine says the girls deserved their rewards for the commitment and sacrifices they made.
She said “So for me personally, it was in my ambitions to play in the Olympics and I had intended to make myself available again so for me personally it’s disappointing but I am absolutely thrilled for the team, they worked so hard over the years, they have given up so much as to regards putting their careers on hold, for it to be finally achieved it’s amazing like”.
