Miserable Week For Carlow Minors As Laois Do The Double

Carlow V Laois

Laois Senior Football manager John Sugrue says that Carlow will make them work hard for every score they get in Sunday’s National League clash.

Speaking to KCLR, John says another tight contest is likely to happen.

“To be fair, if you look at the League to date, I think we probably leaked more goals than Carlow have so they are a very tight defensive unit Carlow and goals don’t seem to be conceded too easily by them so yeah the likelihood is going to be another tight affair and certainly Carlow will make you work for every score you get, so yeah a tough test ahead for us”

John has praised the working going on in Carlow and the progression of the side over the last year.

He says Carlow have made a good impression in Division 3 of the National League this year and have a system of play that makes them competitive.

He told KCLR Sport “Looking at the results anyway, Carlow have been very competitive. I think they drew with Westmeath and only last weekend which was their most recent form, they were unlucky to some degree to be done out of a game against Down”.

Carlow are competitive at any level, I think they have got a system of play that makes them competitive in every game that they play so to be quite honest, they have probably been unlucky with one or two results this year, they have had very very tight matches with maybe going by a point in one or two or maybe three of their games, they are going to be superbly competitive and Down been the standard bearers last weekend really struggled to beat them”.

We have live commentary of the game here on KCLR on air and online with thanks to Ray Whelan Waste Management.
