Thomastown United manager Stephen Walsh says that this weekends Premier Division Cup Final against Freebooters makes it more more important for both clubs having not won silverware this season.
Speaking to KCLR, Stephen says that Freebooters have improved a lot this season.
“I suppose the fact that we haven’t won anything, it makes it more important just to end the season with a cup”, says Walsh.
“Ourselves and ‘Booters have gone through the season and probably had decent enough seasons but still have no silverware so that’s make it more important than what it might have been. We played them early in the season now and I thought I would say from last season, they were an awful lot better.”
“I am not really surprised. Booters are always going to be there or thereabout, tradition alone dictates that they are always going to be around for honours.”
Thomastown and Freebooters clash at Fairgreen, Kilkenny, this Saturday at 6.30pm.
