Of course, the expenditure has brought with it another All-Ireland senior hurling title, the Shannonsiders third in a row. The under-20s also made it to an All-Ireland final, only to lose out to Derek Lyng’s under-20 Kilkenny side in the decider. The footballers also enjoyed a great year where they were promoted to division 2 and managed to get to a Munster final.
Despite the expenditure, which is thought to include the end-of-year holiday enjoyed by the senior hurlers, the county reported a profit of €95,290, which is down from €260,327 profit from 2021.
