Limerick Greyhound Stadium PRO Joe Sheehan will be commentating on all of the action at tonight’s races in the Treaty County on Talking Dogs TV.
He explained who will be racing tonight and what exactly is at stake when he spoke to KCLR’s Saturday Scoreline.
“There is €160,000 prize money at stake tonight. People come from all over the country in normal times to see this event. It really is the cream of the crop,” said Sheehan.
He also went on to give a breakdown of the best of the local interest in Carlow and Kilkenny.
“A man called Peter Cronin from Mooncoin has four runners tonight. He is no stranger to success.
“Denis Lenihan has ‘Luminous Light’ and Michael Mackey is involved as well, so the Kilkenny and Carlow area has a lot of powerful runners tonight,” explained Sheehan.
Sheehan gave a breakdown of how the sport has dealt with the Covid-19 pandemic.
He said: “The protocols are very strict. It’s one man, one dog. You get in, you race, and you get out.
“It is hard to get the exposure but it’s on Talking Dogs TV tonight and we are fortunate that we are still going ahead.”
Coverage starts at 7pm tonight on Talking Dogs TV.
