Former Limerick Senior Hurler Ger Hegarty says they don’t want to endure another famine in their quest to win the McCarthy Cup.
Speaking exclusively to KCLR ahead of today’s game against Kilkenny, Ger says the potential is there to achieve even greater success.
He said “We are looking at 2019 as another year that we can hopefully go on to do great things, but what we don’t want down here is 45 more years to wait for what we experienced last August which was wonderful, and they are hungry and they are game and their age profile is very strong”.
Ger says “The age profile of the team is around 22 and 23 so hopefully there is more success to come, but we know we are up against it, but if they make themselves difficult to beat that will work very well for me, because they are going to be very tough to beat no matter who they play”.
