Kilkenny City Harriers Athlete Eoin Everard was delighted with his performance in the Great Edinburgh Cross-Country run on Saturday when competing as part of the Great Britain v Ireland Relay Team which finished 4th overall out of 8 teams.
Speaking to KCLR on yesterday’s scoreline, Eoin says he was happy with how he got it tactically right.
“A lot of times in Cross-Country, people get their tactics wrong.
“They go out really quick, and because the grass it kind of saps your legs and they are tired at the end so what I did was just I went off nice and conservative, I was nearly last at one stage.
“I kind of panicked a little bit, I hope I have something in my legs and thankfully I did, and I just moved through the field nicely, it was me and the Spanish guy and the Belgian who were kind of just running for first place, and I kind of handed it over in joint first,” he said.
Eoin was full of helpful advice on Sunday and you can listen back to the interview here.
