Kilkenny got their National Hurling League back on track with a 2-17 to 0-18 win over Tipperary in Nowlan Park on Sunday.
Kevin Kelly hit two goals late on to seal victory for the cats however TJ Reid was Kilkennys highest scorer once again with 0-10 to his tally for the day.
Speaking after the game the Ballyhale Shamrocks man said:
“Yeah its a great confidence boost, there was a small bit of pressure coming in today, you know we didn’t perform against Waterford, we can make all the excuses we want down in Walsh Park but we were bullied all over the field, the breaking ball, even the rucks we were losing all of them.”
“I think today there was a lot of emphasis on just getting a good team performance, our overall work rate, our ball winning, you know it’s a big open pitch as well so there’s more hurling involved rather than Walsh park where there’s more rucks more so, we dug deep, fought to the final whistle and if you fight to the final whistle you never know what could happen.”
