Cork Senior Hurling Manager John Meyler says a lot of groundwork needs done during the National League ahead of the Championship start in May.
Speaking exclusively to KCLR ahead of today’s League opener against Kilkenny in Nowlan Park, John outlines what their objectives for the League are.
He told KCLR Sport “You have to get your groundwork because the GAA giving the month of April to the clubs, a lot of groundwork has to be done at this time of the year so we have really three objectives in the League”.
“We are trying to blood new players, younger players out of the Minor Teams the last couple of years, we are trying to be competitive and we are also trying to win games so the League serves different purpose, different objectives and you are trying to get the best out of it, while at the same time been competitive and trying to win matches”.
He added “That’s really it and that’s the same for every county”.
We have live commentary of the game on KCLR from 2pm.
