Today the juvenile boxers of Marble City Boxing Club are keeping their fitness up by running around Kilkenny. However the reasoning behind it is not for the purposes of cardio.
No the young fighters will complete a 10k fundraiser run with all proceeds going to Mental Health Ireland whilst fully complying with the governments level 5 restrictions at all times. You can contribute if you wish to do so here.
In a post on their go fund me page Marble city boxing said ,
“This Covid19 situation has been a difficult period in time for us all and has the capabilities to challenge our mental health. The Marble City boxing club has always helped and catered for individuals in the community and our boxers have decided to show our support for Mental health Ireland. All support would be greatly appreciated.”
No doubt they are doing their best impression of Rocky Balboa, and doing a bit of shadow boxing along the way.
