Oisin Langan caught up with Carlow Sharpshooter Marty Kavanagh after the game to get his thoughts
“We were expecting a huge battle coming up, it is exactly what we got. We were six points up at one stage, but it was never over and they fought back. It was expected, but we showed a lot of character to dig. We came up to get a result and we got the result, so we are delighted going back.
“The first twenty minutes I thought we were very good, we came out all guns blazing. We got a bit of a lead but they had a purple patch at the end of the half. i thought we held them well and didn’t concede a goal.”
We were 3 points up at halftime, which we were happy about because we knew we would have a small breeze in the second half. Obviously, they got the goal straight away, but then we responded very well again. So, all in all, we are happy.”
In football Waterford IT was comprehensively defeated in freshers action.
Carlow, just like the hurling managed to get 3 goals, but also added 13 points to their tally
With the Munster side replying with just 8 points.
