Justin Rose and Harold Varner the Third share the lead heading into day 2 of the Charles Schwab Challenge on the PGA Tour.
The pair are seven under par, following the first round of professional golf in America since the tour’s resumption.
The Irish contingent have made a slow start.
Rory McIlroy tees off his second round today with the world number one on 2 under par round of 68, 5 shots behind joint leaders Justin Rose and Harold Varner the Third.
McIlroy admited ‘It’s a little strange not having anyone around, but at the same time we are so concentrated on what we’re doing and trying to shoot good scores and play good golf. Once I got into it, I didn’t feel like it was much different at all.’
Graeme McDowell and Shane Lowry get under way later this evening, on one under and one over par respectively.
