There are fears that one of Munster’s marquee signings, second row RG Snyman could be out for months with a knee ligament injury.
The 25 year old was forced off after just seven minutes of the Pro 14 match with Leinster on Saturday.
The news is better regarding Leinster’s Dan Leavy, who has been out of the game for over a year, also with a knee problem.
Leavy won’t feature against Ulster in the Pro 14 at the weekend, but assistant coach Robin McBryde says he is ‘bouncing’ in training.
PLAYER UPDATE | Bad news on the injury front as RG Snyman sustained an ACL tear during #LEIvMUN & will meet with a specialist next to discuss surgery and management.
Dave Kilcoyne and Jean Kleyn have also been ruled out for the immediate future.
