Mt. Leinster Rangers easily overcame Naomh Eoin in the opening round of the under 21 hurling championship advancing to the semi-final.
The final score was Mt. Leinster Rngs 5-18, Naomh Eoin 0-13 at Netwatch Cullen Park yesterday evening.
A James Kelly goal after six minutes set the tone for Rngs and a brace from Ted Joyce in the seventeenth and eighteen minutes enabled the red and black men to lead by 3-8 to 0-5 at the break, further goals from Ted Joyce and Chris Nolan in the last period sealed the issue.
Chris Nolan was top scorer with 1-9 while Ted Joyce scored a hat trick of goals. Cathal Tracey scored seven points for Naomh Eoin.
Mt. Leinster Rngs will meet Naomh Brid in the semi-final.
Naomh Brid received a walk over from Carlow Town in the other quarterfinal.
