Mount Leinster Rangers Selector Kieran Lucas says the club is devastated by the news of the passing of Brendan Fennelly.
The 63 year old passed away on Wednesday.
The Ballyhale man and his brothers are part of a hurling dynasty in Kilkenny and picked up a huge amount of medals in the Senior Hurling Championship during a huge era for the club.
Brendan managed county and club teams, most recently Mount Leinster Rangers.
Kieran Lucas worked with him as a selector as says he is loved by the club.
He said “He just settled in here, he’d be down before a training session 45 minutes before it and he’d chat and joke with people and then after the session he’d hang around again for another 45 minutes and the same thing.
“People were just mad about him really, very fond of him and the players were too”.
He added “The players are absolutely devastated at the sad news of Brendans passing”.
