The Carlow Senior Hurling championship gets underway this week as St Mullins take on Naomh Eoin in the Curtain raiser.

Pat Coady, who won five senior titles with Naomh Moling is looking forward to the season and believes Naomh Eoin will be itching for the chance to take on the current county champions:

He said “There’s been a very short run in period to the game and I’d say in one way that will be a leveller as regards any procedure that St Mullins might have, but Naomh Eoin are a proud club and they’ve been in the doldrums over the last couple of years and I’d say they’ll be mad to get a cut off the county champions”.
