Nathan Collins has become the most expensive Irish footballer in history.
The centre half yesterday completed a 24 million euro move to Premier League side Wolves from relegated Burnley. The 21 year old had only spent a year at Burnley after signing from Stoke, but has proven himself to be Premier League calibre. Wolves have a good record with Irish players with Robbie Keane, Kevin Doyle, Matt Doherty and Denis Irwin all lining out at Molineux Stadium for the side, with former Irish manager Mick McCarthy in charge of the side for six years.
Speaking of players like Matt Doherty and Robbie Keane, they both appear on the top ten list of most expensive Irish transfers. Robbie Keane, appears no less then three times with the total cost of all his transfer exceeding £90 million.
