North End United manager John Godkin says it’s going to be a difficult task if they are to gain revenge for their defeat to Freebooters in the FAI Junior Cup earlier in the season.
Speaking to KCLR ahead of Sunday’s clash in the Leinster Junior Cup, John says that Freebooters will be driven and motivated after losing to Gorey Rangers in last Sunday’s FAI Cup clash.
“It’s a game that we want to win badly and Again, it’s a tough draw down in the Fairgreen in Kilkenny” said the North End manager.
“It’s a good side who are hurting at the moment after been beaten last week in the FAI Junior Cup in a game that I watched, and I thought they controlled (the game) for large parts and probably should have won”.
“They will feel a little bit aggrieved the last week so their backs will be up after last Sunday”.
John Godwin also said “As a manager, I have been beaten in five (Junior Cup) semi-finals now and haven’t managed to get across that line so yes it’s a cup competition that as a manager of this club I would nearly like to win”.
He added “We know we have a very tough game away in Kilkenny this Sunday”
