Aidan O’Brien says Saxon Warrior will have learned a lot from the Epsom experience in which he finished 4th.
Saxon Warrior is odds-on favorite to make amends in the Irish Derby at the Curragh on Saturday and he says the Curragh should bring out the best in him.
“We are very happy with him. He never ran on a track like Epsom before. He came out of the race well, he would have learned a lot, we are hoping and looking forward to the Curragh with him.
“We are very happy with him since really and obviously he is a baby horse still and like he hasn’t had an awful lot experience in comparison to some of the other horses.
“In all the races he won, he went through them very easily and won very easily so that’s probably the first time he was in among the rough and tough so he probably learned a lot.
“He was a little bit awe of the whole thing, but like we are looking forward to the Curragh, like it’s one of the best if not the best track in the world, and a beautiful surface.
“There’s usually no hard luck stories at the Curragh and we are looking forward to seeing him run really,” he said.
