Carlow Senior Football manager Turlough O’Brien says that the performances of both Brian Cawley and Jamie Clarke have added to the strength in depth of the Carlow panel.
Jamie Clarke came off the bench to score two goals in Carlow’s comprehensive victory over Wexford yesterday, and Turlough says he is able to mix it with the best.
“These lads are very committed to it. Brian Cawley has been there a number of years now with us and he is a very dedicated footballer so he is and he is making progress and the two lads (Jamie & Shane Clarke) are in this year for the first time and it’s a big step up but they are making the step up as you can see there.
“Jamie has been very very impressive, he is deceptive, you would look at his size and say and he is not to up Senior Football level but he has no problem, he is well able to mix it, he is a brave little fellow and a talented footballer.”
