Old Leighlin Ladies Gaelic Football are looking forward to their Leinster Intermediate semi final clash with Dunshauglin and Royal Gaels.

The Carlow side, managed by Barry Hayes, lost in last year’s semi final after being controversially removed from the Junior final, a final they fought hard to get into. The argument being that they should of not being playing Junior football after winning the Leinster Junior Championship in 2018.

They will be buoyed by their recent intermediate performances after a very convincing victory in the last round. Captain Anne Roche spoke with KCLR and says the team is eager, but they don’t have one eye on the final yet.

“We just need to focus on the semi final, it would be very foolish to presume anything. We have an appetite for it of course but we will go out and give it our all in the semi final.” She continued with the age old phrase “We can only take it one day at a time”
